I have been decorating cakes professionally since 1996...
I have been teaching the Cake Decorating classes at Blue Ridge Community College several years now.
I was a Beginning cake decorating student in 1996 and was chosen by my instructor Phyllis Rogers who taught at the college for 29 years to teach me to take over the classes so she could retire, I was taught to teach the classes under her apprenticeship for two years, all the while baking, decorating and selling cakes from my home, of course because of her faith and encouragement in me to do so. She always told me she saw creativity and imagination in me and that the sky was my limit, and I was the only student she ever had who she knew she could retire her classes to...(she saw something in me I never saw in myself)...
In her and Gods honor, I feel blessed to pass my gift on to others whether it be via teaching students in my classes or decorating special occassion cakes for my family, friends and clients.
What a privilege its been and will continue being to share my God given gift with others.
May God touch and Bless you in ways you never dreamed possible, Mary :o)
